Start-up New Plant's Logistics & Warehouse Facilities
Jan 2018 – Jan 2019

Project description

1. Pioneer in new plant's logistics and warehouse.
2. Lead and initiated applications for plant's licensing, permits and approvals at Customs, MIDA, CIDB, Municipal Council, other government agencies.
3. Initiated headcount requirement and hiring plan for department, via interviews, candidate screenings up to hiring approvals.
4. Plan and work with vendors on storage system of new warehouse.
5. Initiated an interim inventory control to begin receiving, storage and issuing process to ensure materials are properly accounted and maintained during start-up period.
6. Initiated RFQs with freight forwarders and shipping lines to generate an adequate reference for freight costing and budgeting.
7. Lead efforts in writing up operation procedures for shipping department to ensure process flows are systemised and adhered to at all times.


New Warehouse Start-up, Hiring, Training, Implementation, Safety Enhancement
Mar 2017 – Jul 2017

Project description

1. Lead efforts in coordinating hiring process with human resources team: process and vetting of applications for material handler and coordinator positions.
2. Lead hiring process for contract workers, negotiating with contract workers service provider, follow-up on screening and hiring process, check and verify monthly service charge.
3. Underwent training in Singapore regional office in all aspects of shipping, receiving, systems transaction, process flows and implementations.
4. Trained and briefed new hires on all aspects of process and systems prior to new warehouse start-up.
5. Set-up and trained new hires on various shipping process, from picking, packing, transactions, shipment booking, cargo release, customs proceedings and shipping documentations.
6. Responsible for setting up the safety committee for the new warehouse to initiate, implement lnd enforce all necessary safety measures to ensure safety at workplace.
7. Lead efforts in writing up operation procedures for shipping department to ensure process flows are systemized and adhered to at all times.




Plant Warehouse Start Up, Safety Committee Initiation, Optimization
Aug 2010 – Apr 2011

Project description

1. Logistics Optimization: Lead, chaired and coordinated the optimization program to turn around inbound containers for export shipments. Prepared and developed its process flows, presentations and monitor the kick start of the program to ensure proceedings move as planned, reviewed its performance on monthly basis and improve its process when required.
2. Plant Warehouse Start-up: Warehouse start-up for Plant 5 & 6. Initiated plans and layouts for new facility to ensure maximization of storage capacity. RFQ with vendors for rack set-up, MHE purchase, charging station set-up, outlining in-house traffic and demarcation, setting up safety standards and all necessary tools required to support MH, packing and shipments.
3. Warehouse Safety Committee: Initiated and established all-plant warehouse safety committee to drive safety and 5S awareness in facility, organized safety projects and audits to enhance safety aspects amongst WAs, MHs on MHE, tools and equipment handlings.
4. SOP Write-up: Wrote SOPs for warehouse receiving, storage and shipping activities to ensure process are properly regulated and adhered by all personnel. Conduct periodic checks and audit to ensure adherence on SOP flows.


New Business Unit, Warehouse & Systems Start-Up

Project description

1. New BU and Systems Start-up: Set-up, train downlines on new system for receiving, storage and shipment of Seagate warranty drives.
2. New Warehouse Set-up: Set and lay-out new warehouse storage capacity to support inbound and outbound shipments of Seagate drives. Ensure new storage is maximized accordingly.
3. New Write-up SOP: To properly regulate receiving, storage and shipment flows of Seagate materials.


Revamped Shipping Dept, Improve Process, Developed FG Storage

Project description

1. Revamped Shipping Department: Revamped and rebuilt the shipping department following a massive turnover, hired and trained new personnel on various process and flows, established SOPs on inbound, outbound shipments proceedings, documentations.
2. Restructured Finished Goods Storage: Restructured and reorganized finished goods storage with more systematic build-up high racks, with proper location management and enhanced its racking via system.


Storage System - Development & Improvement, MHE Upgrading

Project description

1. Storage System Development: Coordinated with various departments in the company to work and develop systematic storage system and location management of WIP materials. Work on developing scanning system to improve cycle count activities. Conduct various level of training and briefing on the ground to ensure adaptability to new system.
2. Improvement of Loose Pack Storage: Design and build-up high rack system to reorganize loose pack storage. Established control and accountability over management of loose pack storage, developed location management to ensure materials are properly organized, visible. RFQ with vendor, reviewed and kick started the project in accordance with road map set for the purpose.
3. MHE Upgrading and Redistribution: RFQ from MHE supplier on various package – trade-in, rental and hire purchase options. Study, understand and review current MHE operations, requirements and material movements. Redistributed MHE requirements to respective sections in warehouse and manufacturing lines. Developed and enforce MHE checklists, follow-up to ensure practical effectiveness.
